Have a go at making a crocheted cardigan - we have 3 patterns for you to choose from: Hexi-cardigan (worked in the Round), Zig Zag Cardigan (worked in Rows) or African Flower & Stripes Cardigan (worked in both Rounds & Rows). They are all made from Double Knit yarns and require a 4mm hook. The Hexi- and Zig-Zag Cardigans lend themselves to using up oddments but the African Flower & Stripes Cardigan does need some planning.

Yarn and hooks are NOT included so you will need to purchase these prior to attending. We are happy to provide information and support to help with choosing suitable materials.

Yarn Required:

• Hexi-Cardigan - minimum 5 x 100g balls DK
• Zig Zag Cardigan - 7 x 100g balls DK
• African Flower & Stripes Cardigan - minimum 7 x 100g balls DK in seven shades

This course is in two parts.

Part One: Starting - this will be a 2hr tutored session. We will look at your chosen pattern, start your cardigan and explain how to proceed. Please note that you will not finish your cardigan and will need to finish it at home.



Part two can be booked separately at a later date, if required (you do not need to book to attend the second part unless you require help with sizing/assembling your cardigan).

As with all our courses, there is unlimited help available from Lisa most Tuesdays and Thursdays in the shop, and at the Yarnaholics Social Group which currently meets in the evening on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month.

This is NOT a beginners course and you will need to be confident in creating the basic stitches (chains, double crochet & trebles) to attend.

This course is only for people who have already attended Basic Crocheted Cardigan Part One: Starting, and need further help to complete their cardigan.

Basic Crocheted Cardigan Part 2: Finishing - this will be a 1 - 2hr session looking at how the cardigan is put together and seamed. You will need to bring the pieces of your cardigan to the session. 25/04/2026
